In his »Hochsitzobjekte« series, Walter Ebenhofer uses a method that comes very close to documentary photography. He photographed a series of around 40 shots of various high seats and an equal number of shots showing the view back to the point from which the image was taken. In this exhibition, these two photographs are presented together. However, he is not interested in depicting the multitude of possible aspects, but he photographed them as objects that point beyond their immediate purpose. This distinction may not be clear at first glance, but it is all the more significant in its subtle effectiveness and its influence on the viewer’s perception.
