Openings: Leo Kandl & »Buchumschlag!«

For decades, Leo Kandl has repeatedly addressed his immediate living environment, the formerly rural working-class district of Floridsdorf, in his extensive photographic work.

Books, brochures, and pamphlets served as “small posters” that attracted attention with a wide variety of combinations of photographs and text. Fragments of reality, assembled into aggressive montages, reflected the despair over the economic situation.
