Inge Morath - Durch Österreich

Durch Österreich

 25,00

“Durch Österreich” gathers 74 photographs by Inge Morath from the last 50 years and thus covers the entire creative period of this photographer. Scenes from post-war Austria and the everyday life of the 60s and 70s, the morbid and transfigured Vienna with its originals such as the Fiaker and the head waiter, the architecture and above all the Austrians themselves are the motifs of the photographer here. Born in Graz, photographer Inge Morath (1923-2002) became known for her sensitive and comprehensive portrayal of large cultural areas. Although she spent most of her life in the United States, she always set out in her photographs to find what was specifically Austrian, trying to discover the country with the curiosity of a traveler. The writer Karl-Markus Gauss juxtaposes the photographs with an intimate and critical view of a Salzburg microcosm from the perspective of the adolescent.
