This Fotohof publication contains concepts and works by students undertaking courses in Fine Arts Photography at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.
Professor Gabriele Rothemann, who has accompanied Photography students, since the foundation of the department in 2001, regards the educational focal point as being the motivation of young people to undertake artistic experiments and adopt individual positions. In just five years it has succeeded in turning the Vienna University of Applied Arts into an important competence centre for artistic photography, a development reflected by increasing national and international recognition.
This substantial book concentrates different artistic approaches – from socio-political statements to extremely personal expressions. The photographic perspective is transformed into a moving image, an installation, a performance, or a drawing.
