Anna Breit’s second book brings together over 100 portrait photos from the photographer’s archive from 2018 to 2024, all of which are excerpts – predominantly from commissioned works. The original images, all analog, photographed on negative film, remain in the archive as material and form the starting points for this playful artistic work. The result of the artistic process are heavily grained faces, which are impressively arranged in series on the pages without interruption as close-up views. Anna Breit explores the limits of the photographic reproduction mechanism in the transition between commissioned and free artistic photography.
