The historical oeuvre of photographer Dora Kallmus (Atelier d’Ora) is the starting point for the Mode Momente exhibition, which features works by Austrian female photographers working at the interface between art and fashion photography. Showcasing various artistic positions of international significance, the exhibition sounds out the complex relationship, but also the overlaps that exist between commercial contract work within the fashion industry and contemporary artistic practice. It also looks at how role models are constructed, at gender issues and stereotypes in fashion photography, and touches on questions such as the social significance of photography and advertising within the realm of contemporary fashion images.

The catalogue is published by Fotohof edition to coincide with the exhibition at Landesgalerie Linz at the Oberösterreichisches Landesmuseum.
