Sebastian Stumpf - Never Really There

Never Really There

 14,00

Sebastian Stumpf works with structures trouvées in art and urban spaces. On the one hand behind the camera, selecting and composing scenes; on the other in front of the camera, intervening in the staged setting: for instance with projections into the photographed space or by featuring his own physical presence. Sebastian Stumpf is a photographer and filmmaker. There is always an instance of something latently comical in his works when he incorporates seemingly absurd action sequences like silent film humour into the strict, classical views of his constructed spaces. Everything suddenly becomes irrational and suspect – in the blink of an eye. The book coincides with the first international museum exhibition by the Leipzig artist, who is a graduate of the master class of Timm Rautert.
