Stuke & Sieber

Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber cover a broad spectrum of identities in their work: Photographer and artist, curator and initiator of exhibitions, designer and publisher of artist books. Over the course of two days, Stuke and Sieber will work together to develop a photographic approach to urban structures and the examination of a place, as well as discussing and trying out forms of publishing. They will begin their workshop with a comprehensive introduction, presenting international positions, films, videos, music and artistic/photographic projects on the subject of “Who owns the city”. Subsequently, the workshop participants are invited to present their own book projects in a joint discussion or to bring along photo books that have inspired or influenced them, that they find interesting or view critically. This will lead to an active discussion on the subject of “City and Photography”. The last part of the workshop is the fax collective: all participants are invited to research in the extensive FOTOHOF library. Together – using only a photocopier – a collective edition of the “Fax from the Library” fanzine will be produced.
The workshop will take place parallel to the exhibition “Künstler:innenbücher zu Gast” with Böhm/Kobayashi, the publication project by Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber.
