“Be on display” is a project that Sigrid Kurz developed from her photographic work on gallery spaces. The first series of photographs in galleries was taken in New York in 1995 and is published in the book Sigrid Kurz “Issues” (FOTOHOF >EDITION, 2004).
The series shows portraits of artists, gallery owners, curators and editors who, in their spaces of action, themselves become part of the exhibition, the display. In the photographs, place, action and time are condensed into a set. This setting is described in the title of the respective photographic work.
