From 16 to 20 September, the FOTOHOF is showing photographs from the new book by Salzburg photographer Reinhart Mlineritsch. With images of extreme precision and sharpness that bring ordinary and meaningless things of our everyday life to the fore, photographer Reinhart Mlineritsch opens up an unexpectedly poetic world to the viewer.
Reinhart Mlineritsch is a magician of photography who reminds us that we are far from knowing the things of the world. With the curious eye of the explorer and the skill of a photographer at the height of his art, he explores our environment as if it were unknown terrain and everyday life a terra incognita. Whether it is a thin skin of ice that has formed on a pond, a sandy hill covered with sparse hair, discarded equipment or waste products of industrial wear and tear – there is nothing at all sensational or spectacular about the objects that Reinhart Mlineritsch depicts in a meticulous, technically perfect manner. The only thing that makes them sensational and spectacular is the way this photographer captures them and makes them visible to us in a new way. With his precise and poetic images, Reinhart Mlineritsch reminds us that things are still in motion and that we could see the world in a completely different way.
