Opening »Extroverted Images«

“Extroverted Images” presents five international positions that are characterized by an interplay between photography and sculptural-installative approaches. In addition to overcoming the two-dimensionality, appropriating the physical exhibition space and dealing with the materiality of images, the exhibited works address the public, cultural and socio-technical spaces of our time, in which digital photography and its political subtexts circulate.

Billie Clarken, Nikita Diakur, Clemens Fischer, Alex Grein and Lucas Leffler literally twist, deform and melt the images, thereby not only expanding photography, but also opening up additional perspectives on concepts of image and work in contemporary art production and the media landscape.
