We are pleased to inform you about a new step that will put FOTOHOF on the path to becoming even more sustainable. As part of the Climate and Energy Fund’s ‘Klimafitte Kulturbetriebe’ funding programme, we are taking important steps to improve our energy efficiency. This project will enable us to make our spaces more efficient and further improve the quality of the visitors’ experience.

What exactly happens

In the FOTOHOF>GALLERY, we are replacing halogen spotlights for modern LED lighting. This change has several advantages: In addition to a significant reduction in energy consumption, our exhibitions benefit from the improved quality of light. This new lighting technology enables us to present the photographic works even better.

FOTOHOF>LIBRARY now has its own intelligent climate control concept: motorised windows and external blinds are coordinated by an automatic control system. In conjunction with an optimised ventilation system, we create a pleasant indoor climate through the efficient use of natural air circulation. This innovative solution combines maximum comfort with modern energy efficiency.

Why this is important to us

As a center for photography with a long history, we focus on long-term and sustainable action. Since our foundation in 1981, we have seen ourselves as a non-profit organisation that also embraces social and ecological responsibility. The current changes are one  more important step on our path to increased sustainability – a path that we will continue to pursue consistently. The support from the ‘Klimafitte Kulturbetriebe’ programme enables us to make this important modernisation of our infrastructure.

This project is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and is carried out under the program ‘Klimafitte Kulturbetriebe’
