Peter Dressler - Lasting Values

Lasting Values

In a Viennese flat of a recently deceased veterinarian, the protagonist adapts himself to the situation and demonstrates that reality is not controllable within a still-standing universe. “Lasting Values” represents a stagnation of time as shown in the objects and the person. In his photographic sequences, which have a fixed order like a film, Dressler shows the helplessness of the individual as expressed in various examples of behavior patterns. It is egotism which ends in isolation and neglect.
