Inge Dick - Lichtzeiten

Lichtzeiten

Colour, light and time have proven pivotal factors in Inge Dick’s creative work. This applies to her painting, various architecture-related art projects and the photographic images she has been generating since the 1980s. The artist primarily worked thereby with Polaroids, which are also at the centre of the overall project Lichtzeiten. Polaroids, like no other technology, permitted Inge Dick to make light and time visible.

It was hence a logical consequence that prior to the publication Inge Dick had already begun to consider a new conceptual framework for visualising time. This gave rise the film “zinnober” which continues the central concept of Dick’s photographs: This is in turn concerned with the changing of light on a monochrome surface. At the same time the film was also occasion for Swiss composer Roland Dahinden to conceive the musical composition of the same name “zinnober”. Together with the artist he created an impressive spatial realisation of the overall project.
