Margherita Spiluttini - Nach der Natur. Konstruktionen der Landschaft

Nach der Natur. Konstruktionen der Landschaft

 1,00

Margherita Spiluttini is one of the most prominent photographers of contemporary Austrian and European architecture. She is mostly concerned with architecture in a wider sense, with special areas such as the Alps that display distinct traces of human activity.
Roads, bridges, tunnels and dams, combined with the Alpine environment result in fascinating sceneries and exemplify the interlocking of nature and technology. The Erzberg, as well as quarries, illustrate the other side of architecture: mined space.
Aesthetically exploring nature as a resource of mechanized society, Spiluttini highlights the complex and ambivalent relationship between nature and technology. In the extremely precise and highly structured compositions of her photographs, architecture and landscape, technology and nature merge into manifold ornaments which offer different readings.

Margherita Spiluttini, *1947 in Schwarzach (Austria);, lives and works in Vienna.
