Weltlinie 1998

 1,00

Katharina Sieverding’s initial idea for these images, shown in the Residenzgalerie in 1998, stem from a picture of an old woman at the end of her days, painted by Rembrandt. Sieverding, whose main topic is the meaning of life, is especially interested in how people are confronted with relationships today. She is interested in scientific images such as medical pictures. She tries to speed up the knowledge of the world and points out complex connections. These relations are shown as superimposed, cut, overlapped or overexposed images.

Katharina Sieverding, *1944 in Prag; lives and works in Düsseldorf and Berlin.
